Suwon Hwaseong is the first planned 'new town' in the world. And it was built using 2 years and 6 months' time, using all the techniques in the Joseon Dynasty. Therefore it is a meaningful architecture to those who are interested in it, and it is also a famous tourist spot. It is a tour recommended to those who are interested in architecture.

 

Suwon Hwaseong

Suwon Hwaseong is the first planned 'new town in the Joseon Dynasty. 2 years was spent to build it starting from 1794. Although it was only built for 220 years only, it was registered as the UNESCO World Heritage in 1997. Even though it was slightly destroyed during the Japanese occupation period,  it is now well restored. 

 

 

Hwaseong Train

Hwaseong Train connects the Paldalsan Mountain and the Yeonmudae. Ride on the train and travel for 30 mins(3.2 km), and to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Suwon Hwaseong.

 

 

Hwaseong Palace

When the king secretly visited the people, the palace was used as the temporary accommodation. The palace is huge and was used in various ways, that is why it is also called as the "sub-palace" of the Kyeongbok Palace.

How to go

 After coming out from Exit 8 of Euljiro Line 2, you will see the Lotte Department Store → walk for 4 mins → you will see the Presidential Hotel in front of you

• After coming out from Exit 5 of City Hall Station Line 1, follow the arrow sign and walk for 1 min →  Pass by the Seoul City Hall and cross the road to BNK Busan Bank  → Cross the road on the right and you will see the Presidential Hotel
