[Seoul Bukchon] Mother-of-pearl Craft Experience taught by the Master in Bukchon

Make beautiful mother-of-pearl craftworks with the master of the craft at Bukchon where the tradition and modern coexist. 

・JINJOO SHELL, a mother-of-pearl brand for three generations, is located in Bukchon Hanok Village where the old Korean emotions are left behind.

・Lee Yeong-ok, a master hand of mother-of-pearl and the chief artisan of Jinjooshell, has developed various colors of mother-of-pearl and contributed to its modernization. 

・Mother-of-pearl is a craft material from thinly processed seashells with bright colors. It has colors of natural sophistication that can’t be expressed artificially. 

・JINJOO SHELL manufactures mother-of-pearl products at its own factory located in Gyeonggi-do. Enjoy the beauty of mother-of-pearl made with JINJOO SHELL's excellent processing skill. 

・JINJOO SHELL exhibits various designs with mysterious colors of mother-of-pearl. You can make your own mother-of-pearl craftwork inspired by the craftworks of the master. 

・Make practical fashion items such as Hand Mirror, Business Card Case, Keychain, etc.h by inlaying with the mother-of-pearl piece by piece.

・ You can express anything from Korean traditional patterns to landmark and Hangul initials. Make your own souvenir!

Design: 30-50 minutes / Attachment and drying: 20 minutes / Painting: 15 minutes to 1 hour

1. If the reservation is unavailable on your preferred date of reservation due to the company's circumstances, you will be contacted via email by the CS Department.

2. Please arrive 10 minutes before the lesson time

3. Above the age of 5 can participate in the experience. Please note that the aged 5 ~ 11 years old must be accompanied by a guardian.

・Come out from Anguk station Exit 2 and go straight about 400m towards the direction of Bukchon-ro → You will then see JINJOO SHELL on your right!

1. If your reservation cannot be made at a desired date and time, our CS Team will contact you via email.

2. Please make a reservation at least 2 days before.

3. Only those who are above 5 years old are allowed to join the experience. (Those who aged between 5~11 have to be accompanied by parents)

4.  The time for designing varies greatly depending on individual preferences.

5. For painting, the time may vary depending on the condition of the mother-of-pearl work and the surface of the experience (double-sided, single-sided, four-sided box, etc.).

6. While waiting for the paint to dry, it is recommended to explore nearby attractions such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, Changdeokgung Palace, the Blue House, public hanok, and restaurants in Bukchon.

7. Pick-up is usually available until 5:30 PM. Delivery to the hotel via courier (1-2 days later) or on-demand quick delivery is also available. Please inform us of your preferred method on-site.
