Information

Jeong-mi Oh is an artist and food artist who has studied and performed in various places in the world such as New York, Italy, Singapore. Her guest house called 121 Bukchon offers an experience of drawing pictures looking at the beautiful scenery of Hanok.

Create your own artwork on a hanji using the initials of your name. This might be one of the rare chances to experience Korean traditional calligraphy. Enjoy the special experience of calligraphy with a hanji and pictorial letters harmonized.

・Munja-do is a type of folk painting at Joseon Dynasty that expresses letters in pictorial ways such as calligraphy.

・Draw a picture on a hanji, traditional Korean handmade paper which has been highly acclaimed with its excellence in smooth and durable texture. A Hanji of 50 to 200-year-old antique books will be provided for the experience.

・There is no rough sketch or a set rule. You can express it in any way by visualizing the initials of your name. While drawing, have a time to think about the meaning of your name.

・Enjoy the beautiful scenery of Hanok at the art studio. What experience could be more Korean than watching the scenery of Hanok and creating a traditional artwork? ;)
