[Seoul] Korean Traditional Natural Dyeing Experience in Bukchon

Dyeing with natural ingredients, being environmentally friendly. A unique experience only available in Korea! Make your own scarf and sweatshirt with natural dyeing 'JJOK' to craftsmen in Bukchon Hanok Village!

This Dyeing Research Institute is a workshop run by Hong Lu-ka, a dyeing master with more than 30 years of experience.
He operates Basic class, Expert class, and Certificate class, daily experiences, various events, and lecture at the university.

• 'JJOK', which is used for the experience, is designated as Intangible Cultural Property No. 115, and it is the only dye that produces blue in natural dyeing, and it can be dyed safely and easily of all ages because it is extracted by traditional fermentation rather than by boiling.

Making Scarf Option

• Dyeing with either Silk or Tencel, the finest cotton scarf.

Making Petit Scarf Option

• A small scarf with Tencel Fabric, which is as smooth as a silk.

Making Sweatshirt Option

• Dye sweatshirt consists of pure cotton.

Making T-shirt Option

• 95,105 size. It is a self-made cotton T-shirt that does not stretch the neck.

• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday : 10:00~17:00(Last Reservation 16:00)

1. Check mobile/email vouchers after you've made a reservation through Seoul Pass. 

※ A voucher will be sent right after your booking is confirmed. 

2. On the very date of reservation, Please show the mobile voucher to the staff and enjoy the experience. 

1. If your reservation cannot be made at a desired date and time, our CS Team will contact you via email.

2. Please arrive for the experience at least 5 minutes before. 

3. An apron will be provided, but please avoid bright colored clothes or shoes.

4. If there are fewer than 2 people, the experience schedule may be canceled. In this case, our CS team will contact you 7 days before the reservation date. 

5. It is an outdoor experience, so the schedule may be canceled in case of rain on the day. In this case, 100% refund is possible.

• Get off exit no.2 Dongmyo station and walk straight about 150m then you can see the SK Telecom branch. Walk straight about 50m again and enter the left alley, you can finally see the Seungri building 6F. (Take the elevator and come up to the stairs on the left as you get off the 5th floor.)

• Cancellation 4 days before (by 17:00 KST): 70% refund

• Cancellation 3 days before (by 17:00 KST): 50% refund
