[Let the Cheongsachorong(Korean Wedding Lantern) Shine!] is a stage performance inspired by traditional Korean wedding ceremonies. Rather than simply recreating a traditional wedding ceremony, the production reinterprets the aesthetics of the Korean royal court and folk traditions through contemporary stage design, music, and choreography, presenting them as a modern K-content performance.

The performance features live music that brings together traditional Korean instruments, such as daeajaeng and taepyeongso, with Western instruments including saxophone and keyboard. Contemporary costumes and stage design inspired by traditional Korean aesthetics are combined with dynamic ensemble choreography.

These elements transform the unique sensibilities of Korean culture into an engaging and contemporary performance language, creating a festive atmosphere that resonates with audiences across generations and nationalities.

The performance combines humor and heartfelt emotion with themes of family, love, and blessings, making it an enjoyable experience for audiences of all ages.

It is particularly well-suited for travelers who want to experience traditional Korean wedding culture through a contemporary stage performance, as well as families looking for an entertaining cultural experience to enjoy together.

Once the performance begins, the audience is no longer simply a spectator. Instead, they become wedding guests invited to a traditional Korean wedding ceremony prepared by "Cheongsachorong," the finest wedding service in Joseon.

The performers move freely between the stage and the audience, engaging directly with spectators throughout the performance. During the show, audience members are invited to light lantern(cheongsachorong) together and offer their blessings for the wedding, creating an immersive and interactive performance experience.

Synopsis

The Joseon Dynasty's Finest Wedding House, "Cheongsachorong"

Yoon-deok, the head of Cheongsachorong, leads the wedding house with her natural sense of aesthetics and charisma. Her goal is to create one-of-a-kind wedding ceremonies unlike any other. 

It has been some time since Cheongsachorong last held a wedding ceremony.
On the day of a grand wedding that draws crowds of onlookers all the way beyond the city gates, a mysterious young man named Nodeul comes to see Yoon-deok after the ceremony.
Nodeul asks Yoon-deok to arrange a wedding ceremony for his mother. 
He explains that he wants to celebrate his mother's new love after she spent her entire life raising him following the early loss of her husband.
However, at this time, widows are legally forbidden from remarrying.
While commoners may be able to quietly remarry without drawing the attention of the authorities, holding a public wedding ceremony for everyone to see is an entirely different matter. 
If things go wrong, Cheongsachorong itself could be put at risk. Su-dume, Yoon-deok's right-hand man, therefore urges her not to accept Nodeul's request.

However, Yoon-deok poses a question to Nodeul:
Does his mother truly wish to remarry, and if so, why?
Yoon-deok tells Nodeul that she will accept his request if he can come back with answers to her questions. Nodeul is left deep in thought.

Meanwhile, a suspicious figure is seen lurking around Cheongsachorong. 
It is Lu Liang, a renowned merchant from the Qing Dynasty, accompanied by his interpreter, Ji-nam.
Lu Liang tells Yoon-deok that he wants to acquire Cheongsachorong and build it into a business with a global branch reach. However, a misunderstanding arises during Ji-nam's interpretation.
Lu Liang leaves Cheongsachorong with an even greater misunderstanding of Yoon-deok, while Ji-nam reveals a new plan to Lu Liang for taking control of Cheongsachorong.

Meanwhile, Nodeul finds the answers to Yoon-deok's questions through a conversation with his mother. Yoon-deok agrees to take on Nodeul's request, and Cheongsachorong springs into action, busily preparing for the wedding.

1. Age Restriction

- Ages 7 and above (born in 2019 or earlier)
- Children under the minimum age requirement will not be admitted to the auditorium, regardless of whether they have a valid ticket or are accompanied by a parent or guardian.
- If proof of age is required, you may be asked by the staff to present an official document showing your date of birth, such as a family relationship certificate, health insurance card, passport, or youth ID card. Please note that refunds, cancellations, or changes on the day of the performance are not permitted due to failure to check the age requirement in advance. Please make sure to review the age restriction carefully before booking.

2. Ticket Booking and Collection Information

- Please make sure to read all notices and important information carefully before and after making your reservation.
- Ticket collection and on-site ticket purchases are available starting one hour before the performance.
- When collecting the ticket, please bring your reservation details(reservation number) or a valid ID belonging to the person who made the reservation.
- Guests are responsible for selecting the appropriate discounted ticket type. (Discounted ticket types cannot be changed, and refunds are not available on the day of the performance due to a change of mind.)
- If you received a discount, please bring the required supporting documentation for verification.
- If the ticket holder cannot be verified or the required proof of eligibility for a discount is not presented, the difference between the discounted price and the regular ticket price must be paid on-site in order to collect the ticket.
- Discounts cannot be combined.
- Booking, Cancellation, and refund policies may vary depending on the booking platform. Please check the policies of the respective booking platform carefully before making your reservation.
- Lost or damaged tickets cannot be reissued. Please keep your ticket safe.
- The sale, transfer, or exchange of tickets through private transactions outside the official booking platform is prohibited. The production company and booking platform assume no responsibility for any issues arising from such transactions. Your cooperation is appreciated in helping maintain a safe and proper performance-going culture.

3. Performance Information

- The auditorium opens 30 minutes before the performance begins.

- Latecomers may only be admitted to designated late-entry seats after the performance has started. If all designated late-entry seats have been occupied or the performance is sold out, admission may not be possible. Please note that no changes or refunds will be provided in such cases.

- Re-entry is not permitted once you leave the auditorium during the performance.

- For the smooth operation of the performance, please be seated at least 10 minutes before the scheduled start time.

- Photography, video recording, and audio recording without prior permission are strictly prohibited, except during the curtain call.

- Bringing or consuming any food or beverages inside the venue is prohibited, except for bottled water.

- The cast may be subject to change without prior notice due to circumstances involving the performers.

- National Jeongdong Theater has a significant height difference between rows, providing better visibility compared to many other theaters. However, seats A1~7, B1~8, C1~7 are located lower than the stage and have no height difference between rows.

- National Jeongdong Theater has two wheelchair-accessible seats. Guests who use wheelchairs or have mobility difficulties are requested to make reservations through Clip Service. (+82 1577-3363)

- The wheelchair lift is installed outdoors, and its operation may be affected by external factors such as weather conditions or physical impact. Guests using powered wheelchairs are advised to check the weight capacity in advance.

    *For powered wheelchairs weighing 150kg or more, guests may need to transfer to a standard manual wheelchair to use the lift. (Two manual wheelchairs are available at the theater.)

- National Jeongdong Theater has very limited parking space. Public transportation is strongly recommended. Cancellations, refunds, or changes to reserved tickets due to parking difficulties or traffic congestion are not permitted.

- The City Hall–Gwanghwamun area, where National Jeongdong Theater is located, is prone to heavy traffic and frequent demonstrations, which can cause severe congestion. To avoid any inconvenience, please allow sufficient time to arrive at the theater before the performance.

- Approximately a 10-minute walk along the Deoksugung Palace stonewall road from City Hall Station (Line 1, Exit 1; Line 2, Exit 12).
